What is botox used for?

Botulinum toxin, also called botox, is well known to people who seek to fight wrinkles and the signs of aging. In fact, injecting botox into the muscle blocks the production of acetylcholine, thereby paralyzing the latter. Botox aims to tighten the skin. Even if its use is sometimes quite criticized, botulinum toxin has proven itself when it comes to reducing wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes or between the eyebrows. The injections do not carry any major risk, but must imperatively be carried out by a doctor.

How does the botox injection take place?

Botulinum toxin is injected using micro-injections. This is fairly quick and painless. The patient can therefore resume his activities as soon as he leaves the office.

How long does the effect of botox last?

The improvement on wrinkles is visible two to three days after the injection. The skin is smoother and relaxed, the look becomes younger for several months.
